The 1st Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest was very successful and many people participated on Saturday October 31st on the patio at Trattoria Italian Kitchen. With so many entries, it was very hard for the staff and management to come to a final decision but a decision was made.

3rd place went to Lana Chin with her very creative “Spider Pumpkin”. 2nd place went to Jonathan Cantin with “Evil Grin Pumpkin”. 1st place and a 2 course dinner for 4 people went to Elgin Vine with his “Winky Pumpkin”.

Honarable Mention also goes to Cynthia Pincombe for her “Junk Box Pumpkin”. Many thanks to those who participated and we look forward to next years contest.

Trattoria Wins Restaurant of the Year Award!

Every year, the Kitsilano Chamber of Commerce offers Awards of Distinction to businesses who excel by adding value to the community by way of quality service.

Trattoria, which opened its doors on West 4th Avenue on June 21st in 2008, has been awarded the Restaurant of the Year Award for 2009. The judgement criteria for this category includes providing an exceptional dining experience by demonstrating excellent service & outstanding business practices in a unique ambience & atmosphere.

Trattoria is honoured in being recognized for all these attributes & is looking forward to a fulfilling relationship in its contribution within the Kitsilano community.

Family Pumpkin Carving Event at Trattoria!

Trattoria is inviting your family to participate in our community pumpkin carving competition!

Winners of the best-carved pumpkin will receive a 2 course dinner for four (food only) at Trattoria.

From 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Halloween Day, October 31st, receive a $20 gift certificate to Trattoria if you carve your pumpkin on our patio! Alternatively, receive a $10 gift certificate if you bring in an already carved pumpkin to Trattoria by October 27th.

On October 28th, Trattoria will be one of 30 participating restaurants in BC Hydro’s and Tourism Vancouver’s Candlelight Conservation Dinner event. This event will not only bring attention to electricity conservation, but if you bring in your carved pumpkin by the 27th, it will also serve as the perfect opportunity to beautifully display your pumpkin in candlelight.

Carved pumpkins will be judged and prizes given on Saturday, October 31st .

Gluten, Wheat free, & Healthy Choices available at Trattoria

In an effort to better assist people with special dietary needs, Trattoria is pleased to announce that we offer whole wheat pasta and gluten/wheat free brown rice and corn pasta’s (available upon request).  Please inform your server and we will do our very best to accommodate you.

Trattoria to host pasta eating contest at 4th Avenue’s “Summer of Love” Festival

Trattoria Italian Kitchen will be hosting a “Pasta Eating” contest at 2:30pm on the Williams Stage at Burrard St. and 4th Avenue at this year’s “Summer of Love” Festival.

Ten contestants including a few local celebrities will put their stomachs to the test to see who will be crowned the Trattoria 2009 Pasta Eating Champion!  We will be selecting someone from the audience who is brave enough to take on the pasta challenge so  if you are interested, please feel free  to fill out your name and drop it in the drum and we will be drawing that individual at the time of the pasta eating contest. You can also apply by responding to this blog post.
