The First Annual Yaletown Street Party and Burger Contest went off without a hitch. With bands like Case Closed, street jugglers, The Yaletown Grand Prix and a host of bloggers, how could it be anything but a success?

The amazing line up of bands along with our resident DJ Edwin kept the crowds entertained outside SOCIETY Dining Lounge until the Burger Contest started at 4pm. glowbal grill, The Yaletown Earls, The Hub Restaurant, Section 3, BBQues, The Hamilton Street Grill and SOCIETY Dining Lounge all entered. The burgers were all so amazing that the judges (Richard Wolak, Erin Ireland, John Chow, Raul Pacheco and Cassandra Anderton) found it difficult to decide on a winner. After much deliberation our judges wouldn’t pronounce a ‘best burger’, but rather their favourite…. The Hamilton Street Grill Burger. Hats off to our judges, who took time out of their busy schedules to help us make this event a success.

Cindy Loo and the Band took the stage next and sang the crowd into the evening. It was truly an entertaining day.

Remember this was the 1st annual Yaletown Canada Day Street Party and Burger Contest. Join us next year  as we plan for more bands, more restaurant’s with more burgers and even more celebrity judges.

Dine Out Vancouver has been a huge success. So many people have had the chance to try GLOWBAL COLLECTION restaurants for the very first time and the feed back has been incredible. We couldn’t ask for anything better, but 11 days just isn’t enough.

Our President & CEO Emad Yacoub has asked us to extend Dine Out three more days until May 9th and we’ve happily complied. So don’t worry if you unable to get reservations earlier, because you still have a chance. All our locations will feature the same menus featured during Dine Out Vancouver and same great service as you have grown to expect from The GLOWBAL COLLECTION.

To all of you have joined us during the Dine Out so far, thank you and to those of you coming this weekend, we look forward to serving you.

It’s easy to feel like a Vancouverite – it happens almost immediately – as I sit down to brunch at Glowbal Grill and Satay Bar. The place is absolutely rammed on a Sunday morning, and I can see why as I’m treated to a delicious smoothie-in-a-shot-glass as a warm-up, and deep-fried mouth-watering Timbit lookalikes. I order the ‘Yaletown Breakfast’, which is basically the ol’ eggs-and-toast-and-bacon combo, but artfully served and tasty to boot. I’m tempted by the thought of dessert – it’s probably spectacular here – but am way too full to even contemplate it.
