Just 12 days after the Closing Ceremonies of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games kick off. From March 12 to 21, Vancouver and Whistler will host 1,350 Paralympic athletes and team officials from 44 countries in what will be the first Paralympic Winter Games ever held in Canada.

Inexpensive tickets, a wonderful celebratory atmosphere, and inspiring athletes will make the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games an event not to be missed. Here’s a run-down of what you need to know.

Paralympic tickets:
Paralympic tickets start at just $15! For most Paralympic events, tickets can be purchased on the day of the event, at the venue, or in person at one of the downtown Vancouver 2010 Ticket Centres. For high-demand events (such as ice sledge hockey), advance ticket purchase is recommended. Canadians can purchase advance tickets through Vancouver2010.com, while US and international visitors can purchase tickets through their National Paralympic Committee or the Official Ticket Agent representing their region. Events and venues:
There are five competition sports taking place during the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games. Ice sledge hockey and wheelchair curling will be contested in Vancouver (at UBC Thunderbird Arena and Vancouver Paralympic Centre respectively), while alpine skiing, biathlon and cross-country skiing events will be hosted in Whistler. The venues have been specially built or retrofitted for Paralympic competition. For example, UBC Thunderbird Arena will have ice surfaces built into the benches and boxes to ease transition for players from resting areas to the playing surface (a first in Paralympic Winter Games history).

14 Gold medals, 7 silver medals, 5 bronze medals, a star studded closing ceremonies and a hockey game we will never forget… There is no doubt that 2010 was the best Winter Olympics ever and Vancouverites earned a gold medal hosting it.

Sadly it all seems to have passed by far too quickly and the city’s Olympic “hangover” has more than settled in.  The Glowbal Group has just what the doctor ordered……..the “Olympic Hangover Party”.

Whether you have tickets to this Friday’s Olympic Opening Ceremonies or you don’t it doesn’t matter, because O Lounge at COAST Restaurant is kicking off the games in style with all the comforts of an Executive Suite… Vancouver, let’s welcome the world!

The festivities kick off at 3pm and go through to midnight. Opening Ceremonies will be broadcast live on our big screen TVs and DJ Callie Chevallier will be spinning the interludes, before, after, and into the night.  Chef Josh Wolfe will be keeping your appetite in check, serving up canapes between 3pm and 6pm.

If you have tickets come down early. If not, stay and enjoy the whole night in the O Lounge Executive Suite. Either way, the wait is over….. It’s time to celebrate Canada! Let’s do it in style!

On February 11^th,  the Glowbal Restaurant Group will be launching our Olympic Prize Contest.

Twice a day for each of the 17 days of games, prizes we be offered to our loyal social media fans. This is your chance to win win official Olympic gear, dinner reservations, and gift certificates. To celebrate the launch of our contest we would like to give you all the chance to win lunch and a table for two on the glowbal grill patio, as the Olympic torch passes on Friday afternoon.

Winning couldn’t be easier, just help us come up with name for the contest. The name should reflect our desire to support our Olympic athletes and let people know that we are giving away prizes daily.
